The Instructional Coach applies professional expertise in early childhood education in the form of coaching and mentoring to support, guide and train teachers and other program staff. This includes promoting effective, developmentally appropriate classroom instruction and guidance to meet the needs of each child.
- Instructional support by providing support and guidance to teachers in implementing effective instructional strategies and assessing student learning.
- Develops and demonstrates lessons that reflect accommodations for individual differences.
- Supports teachers in guiding the learning process toward the achievement of state and local curriculum goals.
- Assists teachers in establishing clear objectives for all lessons, units, and projects, and in communicating these objectives to the students.
- Data Analysis-Monitor’s screenings, observation and documentation of student progress in assessment platforms.
- Curriculum development, specifically for Preschool 3
- Professional development- organize and conduct workshops and training session to enhance proper curriculum implementation and instructional practices.
- Assessment Implementation and data utilization-Assists teachers in the appropriate assessment of children’s development and accomplishments to support the referral process and individualization.
- Observation and Monitoring - Monitor’s classroom set-up and teacher/child interactions through the Classroom Assessment Scoring System, (CLASS).
- Keeps current with latest research on best practices in early childhood education and uses knowledge to develop materials, policies and training materials for teachers and other staff.
- Collaboration- work with teachers, administrators, and stakeholders to foster a collaborative environment focused on continued improvement.
- Provides recommendations to the Senior Early Childhood Development Coordinator and the Child Development Services Coordinator on the purchase of necessary classroom materials and supplies.
