As a member of the Learning and Innovation Centers team, you will play a vital role in supporting the day-to-day operations of our dynamic learning environments, focused on STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) education. This position works closely with the Learning and Innovation Manager to ensure the successful delivery of STEAM curriculum for both youth and adult learners. You will be instrumental in the development, implementation, and execution of STEAM programming, fostering a vibrant, engaged community at each Learning Center.
The coordinator will collaborate with the Learning and Innovation Manager to review, select and implement the STEAM curriculum, drive outreach efforts, and help meet key program goals. Additionally, you will play an active role in instructing, hosting workshops, and supporting educational initiatives across additional BakerRipley locations, including the Fab Lab and Pasadena sites.
Key Responsibilities:
- Curriculum Coordination & Implementation: Work closely with the Learning and Innovation Manager to select and implement STEAM curriculum at each site. Ensure that the curriculum is tailored to meet the needs of both youth and adult learners, aligned with program objectives, community needs, and the latest trends in STEAM education.
- Outreach & Community Engagement: Conduct outreach efforts to drive traffic into the Learning Centers, engaging local community members, schools, and organizations to increase awareness and participation in STEAM programs.
- School Partnerships & Scheduling: Maintain and build partnerships with schools in the surrounding areas of the Learning Centers. Work with schools to schedule and coordinate after-school programs and field trips that will bring students to the Learning Centers for hands-on STEAM learning experiences.
- STEAM Workshop Facilitation & Instruction: Teach STEAM curriculum and lead workshops across various BakerRipley sites, including the Fab Lab and Pasadena. Ensure that sessions are engaging, interactive, and focused on developing skills in science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics.
- Supply & Equipment Management: Monitor the usage of supplies, placing orders when necessary to maintain stock for classes and workshops. Learn and perform basic equipment maintenance to ensure technology and tools are functioning properly for participants.
- Data Collection & Reporting: Collect and report relevant data regarding program participation, outcomes, and engagement. Work closely with the Learning and Innovation Manager to ensure that the team is meeting grant objectives and program goals.
- Collaboration & Team Support: Collaborate with other BakerRipley departments, including the Schools and Community Initiatives programs, to deliver STEAM programming that complements the initiatives being conducted by other BakerRipley programs. Provide support as needed to assist with other departmental programs and initiatives.

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work with a diverse group of learners, staff, volunteers, and community members.
- Organizational and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
- Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed.
- Reliable transportation is required for travel between various BakerRipley locations.
- Basic knowledge of STEAM-related technologies and equipment is preferred, but a willingness to learn is essential.
- Experience in teaching or facilitating STEAM-related workshops.
Expected Outcomes:
- Successfully implement and manage STEAM programs at the Learning Centers and other BakerRipley locations.
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with Learning Assistants and volunteers, ensuring that they are well-supported and engaged in program delivery.
- Train and educate community members on the safe and effective use of Learning Center technology and equipment in alignment with STEAM principles.
- Actively contribute to outreach efforts, increasing community participation and engagement in STEAM programs.
- Work closely with schools to maintain ongoing partnerships and schedule after-school programming and student visits to the Learning Centers for hands-on STEAM experiences.
- Ensure all grant-related goals are met by collecting accurate data, monitoring program outcomes, and providing regular reports to the Learning and Innovation Manager.
- Collaborate with BakerRipley Schools and CI programs to deliver coordinated STEAM programming that aligns with other BakerRipley initiatives.
