Direct Support Professional / Supported Living Trainer SLS / ILS / DSP
Under the direction of the SLS Program Manager the DSP will assist Individuals with intellectual developmental disabilities (IDD).
DSP will provide training and assistance as needed in areas of independent living(ILS), with increased integration and inclusion opportunities to develop or maintain employment, opportunities for volunteer activities and opportunities to pursue postsecondary education through customization directed services. Staff encourage healthy habits and routines.
Supported Living Trainer (SLS) will encourage individuals to develop appropriate socialization. DSPs will train on appropriate dress and personal hygiene, including attendance and punctuality encouraging good communication skills. Must have reliable transportation for assignments and transport clients to appointments (doctors, dentists, pharmacy, meal planning and prep, grocery shopping/budgets).
- Responsible for completing all required documentation and reports per agency procedures and maintaining confidentiality through Therap.
- Attend all required meetings and in-service trainings.
- Will confer with other staff and appropriate others as necessary to insure a coordinated effort in the client-training program.
The opportunity does require a valid California Driver's license, reliable transportation, proof of insurance coverage. Wage 16.50 an hour plus mileage , 403(b) retirement plan).
After a job offer has been accepted candidates must complete TB testing and live-scan as allowed by law and required by DSS.
