What are the responsibilities and job description for the PBX Operator position at BAKERSFIELD FAMILY MEDICAL GROUP, INC.?
- Answers calls on the first ring, or before the third ring.
- Answers all calls in a calm, polite manner.
- Handle incoming calls in a concerned, professional manner.
- Answers incoming, and internal calls, and direct callers to appropriate department.
- Exhibit knowledge of call screening techniques.
- Demonstrate knowledge of paging procedures.
- Knowledge of Departmental mandatory meetings.
- Answers basic questions; hours of operation and give directions to all facilities.
- Prepare after-hour On-Call Schedules (Monday-Friday and Weekend/Holiday) and e-mail to Answer Service, Urgent Care, P. of Inpatient Services (Hospital Team), and Senior Administrator On-Call. If any changes to the On-Call schedule before 5pm, inform all of the above.
- Liaison between BFMC/HPN/CCPN, and Ability Answering Service; provides answering service the after-hour On-Call.
- Maintain an Operators' Daily Log.
- Update information regarding new/termed employees in address book, and relay information to Answering Service for after-hour On-Call.
- Page Hospital Doctors, and Case Managers via text for Hospitals/ER's, patients/family members, BFMC employees, pharmacies, and other facilities, as needed.
- Page needed staff overhead; Housekeeping, Codes, Events.
- Page personnel, drills, meetings, events, overhead. Page codes overhead, and e-mail via text, to appropriate staff.
- Follow Triage Nurse Protocol.
- Preferred, Spanish Interpretation for in-coming calls (non-medical), Urgent Care, and in-house departments, as needed.
- Back-up scanning for other departments, e.g. H.I.M.
- All other duties as assigned.
8.1 High school or equivalent required.
8.2 Previous PBX experience preferred; will train to facility requirements.
8.3 Flexible time schedules.
8.4 Demonstrated verbal skills.
8.5 Bilingual preferred.
The pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be between $22.58 and $26.56 however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
If hired, employee will be in an “at-will position” and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
Compensation: Between $22.58 and $26.56
