Bakersfield Memorial Hospital includes 385 general acute beds 48 licensed critical care beds 13 state-of-the-art surgical suites and a full-service Emergency Department with an Accredited Chest Pain Center and Nationally Certified Stroke Center. In addition we offer a beautiful Family Care and Birthing Center the Lauren Small Children's Center including the area's only Pediatric Intensive Care Unit Family Care Center a Level II NICU the Sarvanand Heart and Brain Center with Kern County's first Bi-Plane Interventional Suite the Center for Wound Care and Hyperbarics and many more services. Responsibilities
*TENTATIVE START DATE IS JULY 28, 2025*
This is a paid training program for new graduate registered nurses. RN preceptors and clinical staff provide mentoring, guidance, and education to new graduate registered nurses during a 12-month period to develop their confidence and competency. The residents are hired into a varied shift which requires the selected candidates to work day and night shifts. The program is intended for new registered nurses with less than 1 year of acute care experience. We encourage, grow, challenge, and validate nursing skills to ensure the residents are able to manage time effectively and deliver safe patient care.

Qualifications
Requirements:
- Qualified candidates will have graduated from an accredited nursing program within one year prior to the start of the residency having less than 1 year of acute care nursing experience.
- A California RN license
- BLS certification from the American Heart Association is required prior to the start date.
- RN Residents must obtain an (ACLS) at the end of the month following 10 weeks of hire.
- After completion of the residency program, you will be expected to commit to at least two years of full-time employment to Bakersfield Memorial Hospital, one of those years on the hiring unit.
Pay Range
$43.59 - $75.64 /hour
Salary : $44 - $76
