PRECONSTRUCTION MANAGER ROLE
The Preconstruction Manager’s role is to lead the team in creating opportunities for continued success for bringing work into the company and generating revenue through successful sales, building relationships within the industry that lead to higher success rates, understanding the ‘We, Not Me’ philosophy, and having fun while loving what you do.
JOB DESCRIPTION
- Help drive the BakerTriangle vision as stated in our mission statement: Exceeding Expectations Through Innovation and Integrity
- Represent the company at the highest level to clients, peer organizations, vendors, distributors, and business associates alike
- Engage in company association memberships and participate in industry events in construction-related organizations such as TEXO, DACA, AIA, LCI, or similar Manager of client relationships
- Reviews and contributes to the data to determine material, equipment, subcontractors and labor requirements needed to prepare detailed and thorough estimates
- Complete and manage estimate run-through’s in a timely manner for Manager to review before the due date
- Ability to handle multiple estimates and/or assignments at the same time
- Ability to effectively utilize time management
- Continuous communication with clients pre-award and post-award
- Consult with clients, vendors, or other individuals to discuss and formulate estimates and resolve issues to stay in tune with current market conditions
- Perform duties periodically assigned by your Manager and/or Leadership Team
- Evaluate the marketing functions as needed with your manager and/or Leadership Team, including vendor events, client lunches, presentations, and industry-sponsored events in construction-related organizations such as TEXO, DACA, AIA, LCI, or similar
Expectations
- Knowledge of how to read, interpret, and understand project drawings & specifications
- Develop knowledge of quantity takeoff & pricing software(s)
- Proficient in On-Screen Takeoff and Quickbid, Microsoft suite of products, SmartSheet, Adobe, & other construction-related programs
- Analyze completed projects to compare estimated costs to actual costs and determine the reason for any discrepancies
- Keep up with current industry rates to produce competitive project production rates and labor impacts to estimates
- Ability to translate and understand scheduling as it relates to bidding costs and backlog
- Front-end document review(s) and understanding of how site logistics, schedules, insurances, and special provisions may affect pricing
- Understanding of all drawing sets and types, architectural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, structural, and technology
- Strong understanding of materials, material systems, constructability of materials, and labor production trends
- Ability to process ASI’s, addendums, and preconstruction drawing changes
- Complete projects on time for internal review before the project bid submission
- Develop an understanding of all the scopes of work that BakerTriangle provides

Qualifications:
- Bachelor in a construction-related field (Preferred)
- Construction Estimating: 3 years (Required)
- Construction Estimating within the Drywall Trade (Plus)
- US work authorization (Required)
