Overview:
The Assistant General Manager is meant to assist the GM in order to achieve the stated objectives in sales, costs, employee retention, guest service and satisfaction, quality, cleanliness, and sanitation. They will assist in overseeing and coordinating the planning, organizing, training and leadership necessary to achieve this.
If you have a positive attitude and are detail-oriented we are willing to train the right person. We are looking for someone who can grow with our company. Consideration will be given to individuals with either bakery or barista experience.
Compensation: $16-$18 an hour plus tips.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Excellent Customer Service - Ensure all guests feel welcome and are given responsive, friendly, and courteous service at all times

- Being detail-oriented is a MUST. The presentation of our product is essential. You must be able to work in a fast-paced environment while still producing neat, visually-appealing products.
- Control cash and other receipts by adhering to cash handling and reconciliation procedures in accordance with Company policies and procedures.
- Understand completely all policies, procedures, standards, specifications, guidelines, and training programs
- Achieve company objectives in sales, service, quality, appearance of facility, and sanitation and cleanliness through training of employees and creating a positive, productive working environment
- Make employment and termination decisions consistent with General Manager guidelines for approval or review
- Fill in where needed to ensure guest service standards and efficient operations
- Continually strive to develop your staff in all areas of managerial and professional development
- Prepare all required paperwork, including forms, reports, and schedules in an organized and timely manner
- Ensure that all equipment is kept clean and kept in excellent working condition through personal inspection and by following the restaurants preventative maintenance programs
- Ensure that all products are received in correct restaurant count and condition
- Oversee and ensure that policies on employee performance appraisals are followed and completed on a timely basis
- Schedule labor as required by anticipated activity while ensuring all positions are staffed when and as needed and labor cost objectives are met
- Be knowledgeable of Company policies regarding personnel and administer prompt, fair, and consistent corrective action for any and all violations of company policies, rules, and procedures
- Fully understand and comply with all federal, state, county, and municipal regulations that pertain to health, safety, and labor requirements of the restaurant, employees, and guests
- Provide advice and suggestions to the General Manager/Owner as needed
Supervisory Requirements
- Manages and motivates staff (including: hiring, firing, performance management and recognition duties)
- Train, direct and appraise staff
- Plans and organize workload and staff assignments
- Issues written and oral instructions; assigns duties and examines work for exactness, neatness and conformance to policies and procedures.
- Manages difficult or emotional customer situations and responds promptly to customer needs
Additional Information
* Must be able to work weekends
* Consideration will be given to individuals who are already Food Manager Certified. If you are not yet certified you will need to get certified within two weeks of start date.
* Must be 21 years of age
* Must have a high school diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
* Must have a valid driver’s license
* Must be able to communicate and understand the predominant language(s) of the unit's trading area
* Must have knowledge of service and food and beverage, generally involving at least one year of front-of-the-house operations and/or assistant management or shift lead positions in a restaurant
* Must possess excellent basic math skills and have the ability to operate a cash register or POS system
* Must be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time (up to 8 hours)
* Must be able to reach, bend, stoop, and frequently lift up to 50 lbs.
* Must have the stamina to work 45-50 hours per week
