Position Summary
As a member of the San Antonio finance team, you are part of the financial backbone delivering managerial reporting and driving in-depth analysis of results to leaders across our manufacturing facility. In this dynamic and fast-moving environment, you will assist the Controller with maintaining all areas of the P&L and Balance Sheet. This includes preparing the weekly / monthly financial reporting package with commentary, month-end close which includes creating / posting journal entries, account analysis, and reconciliations. You’ll help develop budgets and forecast and provide guidance on variances to actuals. You will learn and help maintain standard costings on new products. You’ll serve as a financial business partner to numerous areas of the business, working closely with operations, commercial, procurement and warehouse teams.
Key Accountabilities and functional responsibilities
Support the monthly financial closing processImplement, drive and monitor key financial systems at the San Antonio facilitySupports financial planning, budgeting and forecasting processesSupports the preparation and delivery of plant financial forecasts and projectionsContinuously improve standard costing processes within the plant, including a robust communication system that draws in all of plant leadership and external salesPartner with operations, commercial and procurement to help drive financial and factory performance when up to speedCommunicate daily financial status to financial and non-financial personnel and exhibits professionalism across the enterpriseProvides in-depth analysis on variances to plan and forecast, backing up the monthly commentary processSupports actions in other functions by mitigating risk and prioritizing resource needsProactively sees roadblocks and develops contingency plans / corrective actions to ensure facility delivers on financial obligationsReports key metrics for the finance and accounting functionCompletes standard financial processes, including (but not limited to) journal entries, inventory count entry and reconciliation, financial and procurement analysis, sales analysis, cost analysis and otherWork across organization boundaries and all levels of the company to achieve plant objectivesShares best practices, i.e. process improvements, financial modeling and procedural changes with other Bakkavor USA facilitiesGracefully solves problems and drive results.Provides creative insight to plant leadership and team membersServes as plant data stewardMinimum Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, business administration or similar. CPA / CMA a plus but not required.4 years of previous experience within Finance / Accounting function. Manufacturing and / or public accounting experience preferred. Food and beverage experience a plusStrong financial acumen and profound analytical abilityCritical thinking, problem solving and decision making through analytics and dataAbility to effectively communicate with all levels of the organizationStrength in MS Office suite, with heavy emphasis on MS Excel
