Key Responsibilities:
As a Mechanical Engineer you will be part of a dynamic and experienced team that drives innovation, quality, and client satisfaction across all aspects of building design. Suitable candidates need to possess knowledge and experience for all phases of building design, including construction administration and commissioning.
This is a full-time role which qualifies for four days in the office and one day remote.
Primary Duties:
Responsible for HVAC system concept selection, subject to approval of the Mechanical Department Manager and Project Manager.
Responsible for the quality of work produced by subordinate personnel.
Calculation of heating and cooling loads, duct static pressure and pump head calculations.
Ductwork and piping system selection and sizing.
HVAC Equipment selection and sizing.
Miscellaneous engineering calculations as required by project scope.
Generation of schematic diagrams and flow diagrams.
Specification writing, subject to review by the Mechanical Department Manager.
Writing reports and feasibility studies.
Attendance at design development and construction meetings.
Responsible for accurate and timely completion of the design.
Interfacing with clients, vendors and other disciplines.
Review of shop drawings, including responsibility for final disposition.
Conduct surveys.
General knowledge of applicable codes.
General knowledge of Energy Modeling.
Troubleshoot and execute assignments for multiple projects in a timely manner.
Effectively and collaboratively work across multiple departments and stakeholders to help gather requirements, plan and execute project requirements.
Maintain accurate records of design changes and project progress.
Participate in onsite client visits including and not limited to project scope walks, meetings, testing, commissioning, startup support, and trouble shooting.
Assist with client proposals and Proposal development
Qualifications and Skill Requirements:
- Minimum 5 years of experience
- Professional Engineer (PE license) preferred
- Proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD
- Strong knowledge of applicable codes
- LEED certification is a plus
- Detail-oriented
- Ability to take direction and act independently
- Ability to work as part of a team.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and stay organized
- Experience solving complex problems with little to no supervision and on schedule as an individual or as a member of an integrated team
- Experience in the management and execution of multiple projects in Revit and AutoCAD
- Excellent technical, presentation and client interface skills
- Up to date with advancements in mechanical engineering technology and techniques
- Seek opportunities to innovate and improve existing designs and processes
Education Requirement(s):
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, or related field, from a 4-year accredited college or university.
