Job Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and customer-focused patient Benefits Coordinator to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing patient benefits, processing insurance claims, and providing support to patients regarding their insurance options. This role requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and a thorough understanding of insurance policies and regulations related to physical therapy services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and administer patient insurance benefits for physical therapy services, including verifying coverage and eligibility
  • Serve as a liaison between patients, insurance providers, and the office to ensure seamless benefits enrollment and issue resolution
  • Assist patients with understanding their physical therapy coverage, co-pays, deductibles, and out-of-pocket costs
  • Process insurance claims, verify eligibility, and ensure compliance with company policies and state/federal regulations
  • Maintain accurate records of benefits transactions and patient information
  • Address patient inquiries regarding insurance benefits, coverage, and claims processing
  • Conduct benefits orientation sessions for new patients and provide ongoing education on insurance processes
  • Monitor changes in insurance laws and regulations, ensuring the office remains compliant
  • Collaborate with billing and administrative teams to ensure correct benefits processing and reporting
  • Assist in the annual benefits renewal process and open enrollment period

Qualifications:

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, or a related field preferred
  • 2 years of experience in benefits administration, insurance coordination, or a related field within a physical therapy or medical office setting
  • Strong knowledge of patient benefits, insurance plans, and compliance requirements related to physical therapy
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with patients and providers
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Proficiency in healthcare management systems and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certification in benefits administration or medical billing (e.g., CEBS, CRCR, CHAA, CMRS) is a plus
  • Experience working in a physical therapy or rehabilitation office
