Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented Accountant with tax preparation experience to join our team. This is a full-time tax season (mid-January to mid-April) and part-time off tax season on-site role. The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years background in financial concepts, tax preparation, and accounting software. This position offers the opportunity to work with a diverse client base and grow your skills in tax preparation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and analyze financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
- Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual payroll and tax reports.
- Maintain and reconcile the general ledger accounts.
- Ensure all financial transactions are recorded accurately and timely.
- Prepare and file tax returns in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
- Stay updated on tax law changes and ensure adherence to regulations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
- 5 years of experience in accounting and income tax preparation
- EA certification preferred.
- Proficiency in accounting and tax software (e.g., Lacerte, AccountingCS, UltraTax, Quickbooks, eg).
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
