Purpose of the role:
To manage the flow of the restaurant through firing of tickets, delegation of table checks and food running.
Responsibilities:
- To extend a courteous, friendly and professional greeting to guests as they arrive, and to thank them as they depart.
- To make the Managers aware of all guest comments and complaints.
- To follow all specified procedures to provide prompt, efficient and friendly customer service to restaurant guests.
- To satisfactorily perform, as directed, all routine opening and closing side duties including setup of all areas of food delivery.
- To have all tables checked for proper settings before sending out food.
- To run food when orders are complete.
- To coordinate firing and grouping of orders to maintain flow in the kitchen.
- To act as liaison between front of house staff and Chefs.
- To communicate server requests and dining room flow to Chefs.
- To maintain food quality on plates and ensure a proper and clean presentation.
- To arrange plates in order to be ran.
- To call upon staff to help run food when the order is complete.
- To always practice safe work habits, to avoid injury to self and others, including compliance with company and departmental safety rules and regulations and the proper use and handling of all relevant equipment.
- To attend all mandatory meetings as directed.
- To perform other tasks, including cross-training, as directed.
- To adhere to the attendance and punctuality policy as outlined in the PlumpJack Employee Handbook. To report to work as scheduled and be prepared to start work.
- To remain at work for the entire work shift, except for meal and rest periods or when required to leave on authorized PlumpJack business.
Candidate requirements:
- Previous restaurant experience preferred.
- Must have current Food Handler and Responsible Beverage Service Certificate that reviews all California liquor laws.
- Basic knowledge of foods, service standards and procedures.
- Detail oriented, organized and efficient.
- Diplomatic and calm with strong verbal communication skills.
- Courteous, friendly and professional manner.
- Good team player. Customer service focus. Able to work productively with little supervision. Trustworthy and reliable.
Working Conditions:
Indoors: works in clean, adequately lighted restaurant. Work areas may be crowded and noisy. Makes frequent trips to kitchen where air may be moist, warm and odorous from cooking foods. Kitchen floor is uneven and may be slippery from moisture and grease. Possible exposure to blood-borne pathogens.
Physical Demands:
Stands and walks short distances throughout shift. Constantly required to handle and move objects weighing up to 30 lbs. over short to moderate distances. Bends and stoops to perform routine cleaning and service tasks. Must be able to work well under pressure.
Terms:
Part Time, Non-Exempt
Non-exempt employees are subject to the wage and hour laws and entitled to overtime pay. All overtime work by a non-exempt employee must be approved in advance by the employee’s supervisor or the General Manager. Non-exempt employees who work overtime without prior approval are subject to disciplinary action, including termination.

This means that the terms and conditions of employment may be changed, with or without cause and with or without notice, including, but not limited to termination, demotion, promotion, transfer, compensation, benefits, duties, and location of work. No one other than the Managing Member CNCML LP and PlumpJack Management Group, LLC has the authority to make any verbal or written agreement contrary to this provision and any such agreement must be put in writing and signed by the Managing Member of CNCML LP and PlumpJack Management Group, LLC before it is effective.
