About The Position
The Clinical Support Supervisor will work closely with the Clinics Manager responsible and accountable for supervising and leading a team at our Oceanside Clinic. This role will be instrumental in defining the mission, goals, budget, and performance standards for the clinic and communicating it to staff. This individual will also help coordinate care between patients, nephrologists, and other care providers.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
$23.00/hour and up, depending on experience.
Location: On-Site
Required Qualifications
While performing duties, the employee is regularly required to talk, hear, read, write, type and respond in English and understand clinical/medical vocabulary written and spoken.
Vision Requirements
Vision requirements include close vision, ability to adjust focus, and see color.
Physical Demands
Physical requirements may vary slightly and should be reviewed with your manager. In general, this position requires the ability to lift up to 35 pounds unassisted; ability to stand for extended periods of time and to perform repetitive stooping, walking, stretching, reaching and some sitting; ability to use full range of body motions required to lift patients, wear a lead apron, and lift and move supplies. Must be able to safely ascend and descend stairs as a core part of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation, when no elevator or lift is present.
Work Environment
Job required tasks routinely involve a potential for mucous membrane or skin contact with blood, body fluids, tissues or potential spills or splashes. Use of appropriate personal protection measures is required for every healthcare provider in these positions. Require to routinely use standard office equipment such as laptop, computer, mouse, and photocopier.

On January 1, 2018, Balboa Nephrology Medical Group (BNMG) launched Balboa United, a full-service medical practice management services organization. About The Position
The Clinical Support Supervisor will work closely with the Clinics Manager responsible and accountable for supervising and leading a team at our Oceanside Clinic. This individual will also help coordinate care between patients, nephrologists, and other care providers.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Supervise all day-to-day operations of the clinic using sound business principles
- Conduct Daily huddles
- Meet with Clinics Manager on a regular basis and communicate timely and effectively when clinic manager is not on site
- Lead onboarding for new staff to ensure proper introduction of clinic workflows
- Attends interviews with Clinics Manager/Director of Clinic Operations
- Perform clinical support for assigned clinic provider(s)
- Build strong, positive communication with physicians, staff and peers and works as a team to enhance the success of the practice.
- Provide education and care management to patients and their families on the ongoing management of CKD
- Serve as the Value-Based care expert for the clinic
- Supervise and support coordinated care between patient, nephrologist, and other care providers as necessary
- Serve as the primary contact for referrals teams and facilitate escalations appropriately
- Serve as the insurance coverage and eligibility go-to for the clinic
- Supervise and support all regulatory standards, requirements, and guidelines as it relates to federal, state, and local regulations, as well as licensing boards and accreditation authorities
- Develops strong inter-department teamwork to meet the needs of the patients and physicians and drive decision-making and other actions
- Identify and implement opportunities to build employee morale and individual motivation
- Leads by example and serves as role model for all staff to live by Balboa Mission & Values
- Recommend and implement new initiatives when appropriate
- Monitor patient service feedback and contribute to the process of resolving complaints and service issues
- Supervise staff to maintain proper documentation in EMR and ensure charts are in order; maintain required documentation as per Federal, State and Company Policy
- Identify and report any quality-of-care issues and patient complaints
- Maintain HIPAA compliance as it relates to care
- Other duties and tasks as assigned

Required Qualifications
- Medical Assistant with 4 years of experience in a clinical office – front and back-office responsibilities.
- Minimum of 2 years as Medical Assistant within a Nephrology office.
- Background check required
- Travel to other sites located within San Diego County may be required
