HOW THIS ROLE IMPACTS THE CULTURAL PARTNERSHIP:
The Arts and Culture Community Engagement Representative will work with the Deputy Director, Community Engagement and Executive Director on the Arts Culture:San Diego program in the designated Council District. Using your community engagement skills you will communicate with, engage, and draw people who work or reside in the District to participate in the advocacy efforts of Arts Culture:San Diego. You will work closely with the team to achieve outlined grant deliverables and objectives.
WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING:
Promote, schedule, and manage on-site meeting attendance. Between January through June, deliver ten people to each scheduled meeting in Downtown San Diego Council Chambers or other meeting rooms or locations in the community. Track and report attendance to supervisors with a minimum number of people physically attending.
Write and make public comments during meetings. Speak publicly to the core messaging with your local Council District focus at each of the ten Council or other scheduled meetings and organize additional speaker(s) if needed (in addition to attendees).
Staff a day-long significant community event(s) in the designated District. Identify, register, and set up an outreach booth (supplies provided by the Cultural Partnership, collected by you from the Cultural Partnership office) at a community event to promote Arts Culture:San Diego advocacy efforts. Facilitate local Arts and Culture organizations or interested individuals to assist. Track and report outreach metrics (i.e. number of email addresses collected, Councilmember and Councilmember staff engagement etc).
Promote awareness of email campaigns. Achieve email responses for up to three distinct Arts Culture: San Diego email campaigns from thirty different individuals who live in the designated District.
Encourage utilization of the Arts Culture:San Diego Calendar. Facilitate connections with District Arts and Culture organizations and relevant individuals to promote events/programs. Send reminders to share events. Provide education opportunities on how to submit events to the calendar.
Submit content for Arts Culture:San Diego social media channels (up to 4 per year). Source, write copy, and submit images or videos, for Instagram, Facebook, and X (formerly Twitter) per month highlighting activities and programs in the designated District. Solicit content from Arts and Culture organizations and relevant individuals to promote events and/or programs in the District.
