Maintenance Planner

A little bit about the division we are hiring for:

Our Reflective Products Division is an innovative manufacturer of high-quality reflective insulation and radiant barrier products for commercial and residential applications designed to reduce energy consumption. We are the market leaders in North America in the niche segment reflective insulation business. You will find our products in the building material aisles of Home Depot, Lowes, Menards, and other big home hardware retailers. What to expect in the role:

As a Maintenance Planner, you will oversee day-to-day maintenance planning operations and activities, spare parts management, and CMMS administration. You will play an integral role in ensuring equipment reliability and driving performance improvement in a GMP biotechnology facility. You will coordinate with the maintenance team to promote safety, efficiency, quality, and cost-reduction techniques, plan/execute predictive & preventative maintenance efforts, and lead annual/semi-annual maintenance reviews as required.

Key focus areas for this role:

• Preventive Maintenance (PM) Scheduling: Prepare preventative maintenance plans and schedules that are in sync with the organization’s maintenance goals. Ensures that PM tasks are scheduled during planned downtimes or shifts to minimize production disruptions.
• Work Order Management: Understand the job well enough to describe what needs to be accomplished, estimate labor hours, tools, and resources needed to complete different work orders. Monitoring the progress of ongoing tasks, ensuring they are completed on time and documented properly.
• Collaboration with Other Departments: Act as the primary liaison person between maintenance and operations. Lead communication between maintenance and other internal beneficiaries of maintenance work to ensure that everyone receives timely, efficient, and quality service.
• Safety and Compliance: Ensures that all maintenance activities meet regulatory standards and internal safety protocols. Identifying and mitigating any potential risks associated with equipment or maintenance procedures.
• Emergency and Breakdown Maintenance: Act quickly to assess the situation, organize resources, and ensure minimal downtime when equipment failure occurs unexpectedly. After breakdowns, ensure that the root cause is identified, and steps are taken to prevent recurrence.
• Inventory Management: Help with keeping an optimal stock of spare parts and materials.

Required skill sets in this role:

• High School Diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Maintenance, or a related field is preferred
• 3-5 years of relevant planning experience in manufacturing environment
• Functional experience in CMMS, maintenance planning, parts/inventory management
• Familiar with GMP manufacturing requirements and protocols
• Ability to read, understand, and execute instructions in accordance with SOPs, P&ID, and Mechanical drawings
• Strong analytical and communication skills

Work Conditions:

• Due to the health & safety requirements of this sensitive cGMP facility, all employees must be comfortable wearing extensive PPE while on the plant floor
• Manual dexterity is required to use desktop computers and peripherals
• Occasional travel may be required for training, vendor meetings, or maintenance assessments.

Reporting structure:

This role currently reports into Maintenance Manager

Compensation for the role:

The anticipated annual compensation for this role would be in the range of US $50,000 to US $60,000 depending on the relevance of your experience and the proficiency level of the expected skillsets required for the role.
