Job Overview
The Laser Automation Specialist is responsible for various day-to-day functions, from set-up and loading to efficiently operating machinery such as lasers and punch presses. They are responsible for monitoring, maintaining, and operating production equipment and cleaning and quality-checking their machinery to ensure everything works in a production environment. This onsite position will require a daily presence at our Dust-Free facility in Royse City, Texas, Monday through Friday. The regular working hours will be 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, with occasional overtime and Saturdays when required.
Duties And Responsibilities
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to a non-climate-controlled warehouse environment. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to use hands and fingers to type or dial, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, and reach with hands and arms.
The employee must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. This position requires computer use. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, distance vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Job Overview
The Laser Automation Specialist is responsible for various day-to-day functions, from set-up and loading to efficiently operating machinery such as lasers and punch presses. They are responsible for monitoring, maintaining, and operating production equipment and cleaning and quality-checking their machinery to ensure everything works in a production environment. Duties And Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain automated production lines
- Work safely and follow company guidelines
- Set up and maintain automated equipment while following Standard Operating procedures (SOPs) and regulations
- Suggest process improvements
- Perform inline QC checks to ensure quality products are being produced
- Track production using batch records
- Maintain a clean and sanitary work area
- Mentor less experienced personnel in the above procedures as needed
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Supervisor and Manager
- Work at different workstations as needed to meet production requirements
- Attendance/Punctuality: Consistently be on time and ready for work
- Two years of recent work experience on a sheet metal laser machine
- Ability to understand directions in English (read/write/communicate)
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work near mechanical parts while wearing appropriate personal protective equipment
- Ability to use a caliper, hand tools, and troubleshoot automation machine
- Willingness to work as a team and treat all colleagues with respect and consideration
- Self-starter, ability to accomplish tasks with little or no supervision
- Attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality products
- Problem-solving skills and mechanical aptitude
- Previous experience as a Sheet Metal Laser Operator or in a similar role within metal fabrication
- Knowledge of sheet metal materials and their properties
- Familiarity with CNC programming and laser-cutting technology
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications
- Familiarity with turret punch press setup, tooling, and programming
