Intern Job Responsibilities :
Most internship programs are designed for a twelve-week (three-month) timeframe. Internships are available in the summer, fall, and spring semesters, and can be catered to meet individual student needs, based on program requirements.
All student interns must complete a project for the Club during their internship, to be presented to senior leadership at the program's end. The project must be approved by the Club's internship coordinator and the student's immediate supervisor and must be related to the goals of their internship and the needs of the department(s) in which the interns work.
All student interns are also required to attend monthly in-house professional development workshops. A different topic is featured each month, and students must attend no less than three different workshops; some professional development workshop topics include, but are not limited to : managing diversity, leadership styles and effectiveness, conflict management, employee engagement, emotional intelligence, interviewing techniques, identifying service issues, learning from failure, etc.
All internships are paid; the rate of pay for each internship depends on the department and position of the intern. All interns are paid hourly with weekly paychecks and will be classified as full-time seasonal employees. Some interns may be eligible for service charge, commission, or other incentive-based pay.
