The Village of Bald Head Island is looking to hire an experienced human resources professional who is looking for the opportunity to make a positive impact in the lives of all Village employees. Whether you live in the area or are looking to relocate to a coastal community, this position provides a hybrid work schedule where some days will be spent taking a ferry ride to Bald Head Island, which is a unique barrier Island in Brunswick County, North Carolina, and other days working at an off-site location in Brunswick County.Statement of DutiesPerforms beginning-level to advanced professional and technical work in administering the Village's human resources programs and personnel responsibilities. Plans, organizes, develops, and administers a variety of human resources for the Village. Work includes salary administration, onboarding, training and development of programs, personnel records management, process-improvement, and special projects. This employee will work with a wide range of Village employees and supervisors on difficult issues providing internal consultation and policy interpretation and application. Work requires knowledge of the laws and regulations affecting human resources administration, sound judgment in maintaining confidentiality regarding personnel actions and demonstrating a level of independence in daily work and project development. Work is performed under the supervision of the Human Resources Director.To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to complete the essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation. Reasonable accommodation may be requested by contacting the Village of Bald Head Island Human Resources.Minimum requirements include a bachelor’s degree in public administration, business administration, human resources, or a related field and/or professional level experience in human resource management or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
