POSITION GUIDE AND JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Position Title: H.L. Lubker Elementary School Assistant Principal
Contract: 220 days
Salary: Per approved salary schedule
Primary Function: To serve as the Assistant Principal in the H.L. Lubker Elementary School
Illustration of responsibilities and key job duties:
Help the principal in accountability of all aspects of the elementary school to ensure compliance with all Arkansas Department of Education regulations and state laws
To serve with the principal as a decision maker of the elementary school in all areas related students, faculty, and staff
To serve with the principal as the instructional leader for the building and be accountable for student performance, teacher performance, and staff performance
To help with the principal create a master schedule that will serve the best interest of all students
To help with the principal assign all faculty and staff to best serve the needs of all students
To help the principal establish the necessary enrichment and remediation opportunities to serve the needs of all students
To help the principal develop, implement, and monitor a plan for state curriculum standards
To help the principal facilitate the development of a coherent and relevant curriculum for all instructional areas within the elementary school
To help the principal establish a collaborative environment or culture that will maintain a positive focus on the academic, social, emotional, and physical needs of all students
To help the principal establish and exhibit high expectations for all staff through consistency in supervision of certified and classified staff
To help the principal evaluate all staff utilizing the Arkansas Teacher Evaluation System model and the stated premise or goals of the evaluation process that will lead to higher performance transferred to improvement of student achievement
To help the principal provide training for the staff to prepare for the successful implementation of the Arkansas Teacher Evaluation System
To help the principal create the expectation that all instructional decisions and required professional development will be based on data
To help the principal monitor daily instruction to ensure that the curriculum is being taught with fidelity in every classroom
To help the principal incorporate all support staff (Library Media Specialist, Counselors, Fine Arts staff, and classified staff) into the daily delivery of instruction and establish accountability for their performance in implementation of the AR State Standards
To help the principal incorporate technology into daily instruction and support teachers with needed trainings to utilize technology effectively
To help the principal maintain a student behavior management system that promotes equity and fairness for all students
To be actively involved within the community outside of the normal school functions. It is recommended that the principal and assistant principal move within the district boundaries within their first year of employment.
To help the principal create a culture within the elementary school that will enlist greater parental involvement
To be supportive of an extra-curricular program that provides maximum opportunities for the most students
To promote fairness and high ethical standards in all daily operations of the elementary school through consistency
To help the principal facilitate the revision of the student handbook each year
To help the principal plan, organize, and provide the summer school services based on individual student needs
To handle the majority discipline with the support of the principal
Special Assignments:
The H.L. Lubker Elementary School Assistant Principal may be assigned specific tasks not specifically stated in this position guide if deemed necessary and reasonable to support the orderly operations of the elementary school and the Bald Knob District.
Organizational Relationships:
The H.L. Lubker Elementary School Assistant Principal will respond to the building level principal, the Superintendent and work in coordination with other administrative staff.
Position Holder Qualifications:
Current Arkansas Building Level License
Employee Evaluation:
The H.L. Lubker Elementary School Assistant Principal will be evaluated by the principal or designee according to the requirements of Arkansas Department of Education, State law, and any specific District policy.
