Baldor Specialty Foods has a long legacy of quality, consistency, and service. The company was founded by the former Owner and Chief Executive Officer, Kevin Murphy. Kevin’s son, TJ Murphy, has been the Owner and Chief Executive Office since 2013. Under the leadership of TJ in the last seven years, Baldor has achieved consistent double-digit growth in addition to geographic, category, product and channel expansion.

As Baldor moves into a new chapter of growth the Director, FP&A will be responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and analysis. The successful candidate will work closely with the executive leadership team to provide critical insights and strategic recommendations that will support informed decision-making and drive the financial success of the organization.

This is a high-impact role that requires strong financial acumen, leadership skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the annual budgeting process, including forecasting and long-term financial planning, ensuring alignment with Baldor's strategic initiatives.
  • Provide comprehensive financial analysis to senior leadership, offering insights on company performance, operational efficiencies, and business opportunities.
  • Develop and maintain financial models to evaluate business performance, including variance analysis, profit margins, and scenario planning.
  • Collaborate with department heads (Operations, Sales, Supply Chain, etc.) to ensure financial targets are met and identify areas for cost control and revenue growth.
  • Present financial reports and analysis to the executive team, highlighting trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Lead efforts to enhance data collection and financial reporting tools, driving automation and scalability in reporting systems.
  • Analyze business trends and assess the impact of strategic initiatives, pricing decisions, and market changes on financial outcomes.
  • Oversee the capital expenditure planning process and evaluate ROI for major investments.
  • Provide financial support and analysis for M&A activity, new business opportunities, and other strategic projects.
  • Manage and mentor a team of financial analysts, fostering a culture of excellence and professional growth.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field; MBA or CPA preferred.
  • 8 years of progressive experience in financial planning, analysis, and strategy, preferably in the food distribution, logistics, or supply chain sectors.
  • Strong financial modeling skills and the ability to analyze complex data to provide actionable insights.
  • Proven track record of leading budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial planning processes in a high-growth environment.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence senior leadership and cross-functional teams.
  • Experience with financial reporting tools and ERP systems, with a focus on automation and process improvement.
  • Strong leadership skills with a focus on team development and performance management.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to changing priorities.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, or a related field. MBA, CPA or advanced degree preferred.
  • 8 years of progressive experience in financial planning and analysis, including experience in a leadership/management role.

Technology Skills:

  • Proficiency in financial analysis tools, ERP systems (MS D365 preferred), and advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
