Overview :
The Quality Control Supervisor II will oversee the daily functions of the Quality Control Inspector and support staff, ensur-ing adherence to protocols aligned with day-to-day warehouse operations and state health and safety regulations. He / she will supervise employees, including but not limited to training, coaching, performance management, and problem resolu-tion.
Responsibilities :
Coordinate and monitor employee work schedules and daily assignments ensuring an even distribution of workload.
Implement corrective actions to ensure compliance with regulatory authorities.
Conducting employee daily huddles and communicating organizational needs to employees.
Manage employee discipline, in accordance with company policy.
Conduct daily employee huddles and effectively communicate organizational needs.
Address employee concerns or grievances promptly and professionally.
Participate in the interviewing and selection process for candidates.
Review and verify employee timesheets approving PTOs and overtime when necessary.
Provide feedback to company managers and recommend changes to improve operations.
Oversee the use of machines and electronic equipment, including but not limited to power industrial equipment and Hilo machines.
Train new employees on quality control procedures, safety guidelines and organize refresher workshops for existing staff.
Oversee and enforce quality control measures to ensure product consistency and compliance with company and industry standards.
Investigate and document quality issues and product spec compliance, implementing corrective and preventive ac-tions (CAPA).
Adhere to and enforce all company programs such as GMPs, SQFs, HACCP, Organics, Allergen Control, Cleaning and Sanitation, Pest Control, Equipment Calibration, and more to ensure employee compliance.
Maintain and update quality documentation, including Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), inspection logs, and compliance reports.
Encourage team members to share ideas for enhancing productivity.
Monitors work group (team) performance and address issues escalating into the disciplinary process if
necessary.
Maintain clear communication with other departments such as supply chain and sales to address operational needs.
Ensure team members are up to date with safety and operational training.
Perform any additional tasks as requested by Quality department leadership.
Requirements :
High School Diploma / GED or equivalent required.
Previous experience in a supervisory role with quality control or assurance responsibilities.
Strong knowledge of food safety programs, including HACCP, GMP, SQF, and FDA regulations.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to design and implement training programs.
Experience conducting quality audits, inspections, and investigations.
Great attention to detail.
Diligent and punctual.
Proficiency in MS Office and general computer skills.
Food safety and safety awareness, with a strong work ethic.
Physical ability to lift, push, pull, and stand for extended periods without reasonable accommodation.
Knowledge of field policies, procedures, and practices.
Ample knowledge of produce and non-produce commodities.
Education and Experience :
2 years in a warehouse environment.
Previous supervisory experience preferred.
Excellent verbal and written communication and people skills.
Ability to multitask and work independently while contributing to team success.
English and Spanish proficiency preferred.
Work Environment :
Ability to lift over 50 lbs and remain active for extended periods without reasonable accommodation.
Flexibility to work extended hours, weekends, and holidays as needed.
Comfortable working in a refrigerated / freezer warehouse environment.
