Position Summary


Do you love food and all things digital? At Baldor, our Marketing team is responsible for creating awareness of our brand among potential customers and markets and supporting revenue growth via digital and offline channels via share of plate and share of market. We are looking for an innovative and data-driven Manager, Digital Marketing to help drive the digital function of our marketing team. This role will be instrumental in shaping our digital strategy and optimizing performance across ecommerce, email, paid media, search, and other digital channels – with the goals of increasing spend of existing customers and fueling acquisition of new customers.

As the Manager of Digital Marketing, your job will be to develop growth strategies that enhance customer journeys, drive product discovery and conversion, and encourage new customer applications. Your ability to strategize, implement, and iterate digital initiatives will play a critical role in meeting business goals and accelerating growth. In the first year, you will work a lot on building out our cross-selling and upselling strategies, motivating the creation of email journeys, and continuing to grow the revenue and favorability impact of our performance marketing. This is a job for a proactive strategist.


You will have two direct reports, and will be expected to lead them toward the department’s goals. You will set some strategy but also must be comfortable being hands-on in our fast-paced environment. This role requires a strong understanding of third-party software platforms such as dynamic display software and CSAT tools, as well as a passion for leveraging data and BI context to create high-impact digital marketing strategies. You are someone who goes above and beyond simply facilitating channel and media activities—rather, you are ideating and driving key strategies to create a culture of perpetual improvement in marketing. This is an exciting opportunity for a creative and results-driven leader who can combine strategy, innovation, and execution to elevate Baldor’s digital marketing efforts. You will be tasked with building best-in-class experiences, leveraging tools and data to inform decision-making, and inspiring a team to achieve meaningful results in a highly visible digital environment that at the end of the day is all about food. In this role, you will report directly to the Senior Manager of Analytics & Digital, and work closely with an analyst, the Marketing , Product and Technology teams. This is a hybrid role, but will be expected to be in the office at our Bronx, NY headquarters at least 2 days per week.


Responsibilities:

  • Guide our digital marketing strategy across channels to create seamless customer experiences:
    • Help improve our ecommerce, email marketing, paid media, search, and other digital channels to help create the ideal purchase journey and encourage product exploration.
    • Develop scalable methodologies to support customer acquisition, retention, and value by helping us become the food supplier every chef wants to stock their walk-in.
    • Build and maintain an intuitive, best-in-class digital experience for Baldor customers.
    • Ensure the right media mix for the right campaign.
  • Work to optimize marketing channels to reduce pain-points and surprise and delight customers at every turn:
    • Continuously work to improve performance across all digital channels to maximize return on effort and investment.
    • Implement testing frameworks (A/B, multivariate) to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Help lead a cross-sell up-sell program to deepen customer baskets and encourage exploration of our product catalog:
    • Collaborate with analytics, marketing, and merchandising teams to design and implement effective cross-sell and up-sell strategies on web, app, and email.
    • Partner with Product and Revenue Operations team to align recommendations with customer needs, preferences, and evolving UX/UI best practices.
  • Define and leverage a clear customer journey map to spot key touchpoints:
    • Map, analyze, and refine the customer journey across digital interaction points, using insights to improve experiences and drive basket size & product penetration.
    • Lead efforts in building automated journeys and personalized engagement strategies.
    • Ideate creative and innovative solutions to create more seamless digital experiences answering customer needs.
  • Bring third-party software expertise to extract full potential from our technology partners:
    • Manage and utilize third-party platforms, including dynamic display software and CSAT, and A/B testing tools to enhance digital marketing efforts, build customer feedback programs, and grow customer value and sentiment.
  • Come with leadership qualities to inspire our team to always improve, looking outside our building and industry for ideas:
    • Manage the digital marketing function of the team, providing direction, mentorship, and support to team members.
    • Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and accountability.
    • Help us differentiate Baldor as a distributor, creating unique relationships with our customers.
  • Encourage collaboration and cross-functional partnership to build internal relationships and work efficiently:
    • Partner closely with Product, Technology, and Merchandising teams to integrate digital marketing efforts with broader business goals.
    • Work alongside Analytics team to ensure data-driven decision-making informs every initiative.
  • Be intentional. Root all operations with key performance measurement:
    • Align KPIs for all digital marketing efforts with the Senior Marketing Analyst, pushing to improve cadence reporting on performance and insights.
    • Evaluate ROAS and continue to optimize and test content.
    • Assign measurement goals and benchmarks to each part of digital campaigns.

Requirements and Skills:

  • Minimum of 4 years proven experience in leading and scaling digital marketing programs across ecommerce, email, paid media, search, and other channels (at least 1-2 years in a management role).
  • Experience mapping customer journeys, designing automated workflows, and implementing lifecycle marketing strategies.
  • Hands-on experience with tools like dynamic display software, A/B testing and marketing automation.
  • Strong strategic skills with ability to interpret key measurements, generate insights, and optimize strategies based on performance.
  • Demonstrated success partnering with cross-functional teams, including Product, Technology, and Analytics teams.
  • Ability to develop long-term digital strategies that align with organizational goals while remaining flexible to adapt to evolving needs and new initiatives.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, or a related field.
