Job Description:
We are seeking a reliable and safety-conscious School Bus Driver to transport students safely and efficiently across the district. As a key member of our transportation team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the well-being and education of our students.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate a school bus safely and efficiently, adhering to all traffic laws and regulations.
- Ensure student safety and well-being during transit, including pre-trip inspections and emergency procedures.
- Maintain accurate records and reports, including daily logs and incident reports.
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues, responding to inquiries and concerns in a timely and professional manner.
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development to enhance skills and knowledge in areas such as student management, crisis response, and vehicle maintenance.
Requirements:
- Candidates must possess a valid commercial driver's license (CDL) and Alabama bus driver certificate.
- Able to pass a Department of Transportation physical and maintain a clean driving record.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and exert up to 30 pounds of force.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; some college or relevant experience preferred.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to work collaboratively with diverse groups.
