What are the responsibilities and job description for the Sr. Performance/Load Testing Engineer position at Baldwin Group Colleague, Inc.?
The successful candidate will have experience with the design and development of test strategies, as well as ensuring the creation of high-quality scripts and performance tests. Additionally, they are responsible for troubleshooting performance issues, conducting root cause analysis, and most importantly, driving problems towards appropriate solutions.
This position will be based out of our Tampa, FL location with a hybrid work with onsite at least 3 days per week.

Principal Responsibilities:
- Develop strategies for performance and load testing to ensure system reliability and scalability and defining performance benchmarks and KPIs.
- Design and create performance test plans and scripts for various load scenarios.
- Execute and monitor performance and load tests on cloud-hosted (AWS) applications, identifying performance bottlenecks and resource constraints.
- Analyze performance data to generate reports and provide actionable insights and recommendations for improvements.
- Collaborate with teams to identify and address performance needs and communicate test results to all stakeholders.
- Identify non-functional requirements, prepare test scenarios, develop and address technical issues with test scripts, and prepare and review test results with development and cross-functional teams as necessary.
- Work with development teams to optimize code, queries, and infrastructure, and implement caching and load-balancing techniques.
- Design, Develop and Implement Performance and Load testing capabilities for core AWS Services, Serverless Compute, RDS, Gateway, CloudFront etc.
- Integrate and Automate Performance and Load testing into CI/CD pipelines.
- Stay updated with trends, continuously improve processes, and identify optimization opportunities.
- Manage testing tools, and maintain a comprehensive documentation library on implementation guides, and participation in Knowledge Sharing sessions.
- Be an advocate at BRP for implementing best practices and standards regarding performance and load testing frameworks and processes.
Education, Experience, Skills, and Abilities Requirements:
- 10 years of Software Testing, Performance and Load Testing experience.
- Experience with tools Apache JMeter, Load Runner, BlazeMeter, AccelQ, or any similar performance/load testing tools.
- Proven Experience in Test Planning, Test Estimation, Test Strategy, Workload Design, Test Cases Design, Test Environment Setup, Test Data Setup, Defect Management & Configuration Management.
- Practical experience with cloud platforms (AWS) for deploying and testing applications.
- Experience with containerized and serverless computing technology (Docker, ECS, Kubernetes, Lambda, etc.) is required.
- Hands-on experience with Observability and Monitoring tools like Datadog or similar.
- Experience with automated performance/load testing integrations with CI/CD workflows. (GitHub Actions or similar).
- Proficient in writing scripts (Python, JavaScript, or similar) and various testing methods i.e., load, stress, endurance, and spike testing.
- Experience identifying memory leakage, connection issues & throughput bottlenecks in various technologies such as web application(s), Databases, Networking, Infrastructure, and Cloud.
- Experience in evaluating performance test outcomes, recognizing problems, and offering practical suggestions.
- Performance Testing certifications are a plus.
- Relevant AWS cloud-related certifications are required..
- Strong technical experience with a proven history of troubleshooting complex, cross-segment, cross-office, and cross-team problems
