Patient Care Tech - Orthopedic Unit
Status: Full Time
Job Summary: The PCT performs nursing assistant and clerical duties in collaboration with the registered nurse to assure the safe and efficient operation of the unit and the safe care of the patient. Performs clerical responsibilities related to Med Surg and Critical Care Areas. Posts and reconciles department charges. Transcribes physician orders. Maintains accurate and appropriate patient information on the chart. Also performs elements of patient care, including assisting in the care of patients under the direction of the RN.
Qualifications:
Education: High school diploma or GED equivalent.
Experience: One year experience preferred. Telemetry experience preferred.
Licenses/Certificates: Preferable that candidate is medical assistant, certified nursing assistant, or enrolled pursing degree in nursing. Training for position will be on the job training. CPR required.
