Under the direction of the Director of Technology and Educational Information Services,perform a combination of technical and resource services in the installation, operation and diagnosis of computer and associated equipment; install software and provide user support services for both students and staff.
EXAMPLES OF DUTIES: Install computers, peripheral equipment, hardware upgrades and software. Perform diagnostics and repairs on computers and peripherals; format hard disks, install disk operating systems, software and ghosting of computers. Troubleshoot computer problems and assist in solving both hardware and software problems. Provide and assist in providing users with software, computer hardware and peripheral equipment training; assist users in accessing and clarifying information in manuals and other forms of documentation. Recommend computer hardware, peripherals and software in accordance with District standards and purchasing procedures. Maintain and update hardware and software inventory. Perform related duties as assigned. Provide assistance to students, teachers, and administrators at department and school sites. Knowledge of: Standard operating systems such as DOS, Windows 9x, Windows 2000 and Windows XP. General knowledge of computer repair skills. Analytical skills. Knowledge of computer terminology. Problem-solving skills. Basic Networking principles.

General knowledge of industry standards applications such as Microsoft products, Adobe products and District approved software. Reporting procedures, record-keeping and report generation.
