Baldwin Paving Company, Inc. is currently seeking an experienced Service Technician - Oil Bay to join our team. This will be a full time, corporate shop-based role in Marietta, GA, reporting to our Shop Foreman.

Essential functions include but are not limited to the following. Other duties may be assigned as needed.
Summary of Duties:
The Service Technician – Oil Bay primary function is to perform oil changes and vehicle maintenance tasks.
Essential functions:
- Performs routine maintenance checks and adjustments on such things as fluid levels, hoses, belts, brakes, tires, and clutches; changes filters and oil, and lubricates vehicles and motor driven equipment.
- Diagnoses problems, disassembles units, repairs or replaces parts, and reassembles units in the following systems:
- Repairs or replaces shoes, pads, drums, hoses, calipers, cylinders, any heavy-duty air brakes.
- Flushes radiator, replaces hoses and thermostat, repairs or replaces radiator and water pump, fan drives, DCA treatment filters, air intercoolers and oil coolers.
- Repairs or replaces fuses, batteries, lights, instruments, warning devices, controls and switches, computer controls, modules, alternators, starters, and defective cables and wiring.
- Repairs or replaces heater cores, condensers, compressors, hoses, and controls; recharges air conditioning systems.
- Maintains service logs and records of maintenance on vehicles and motorized equipment, using fleet maintenance and management software.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: High school diploma or equivalent is highly preferred, but not required.
Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Service Technician.
Computer Skills: The ideal candidate must demonstrate proficiency in conducting research on the internet, possess basic knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook), and have a general understanding of diagnostic programs relevant to the industry.
Certificates & Licenses: Driver’s license is required.
Additional Eligibility Requirements: Requires the manual dexterity to manipulate the controls of the equipment being repaired or maintained. Will require the ability and coordination to operate a manual transmission and clutch in both trucks and any other equipment being repaired or maintained. Will require own tools, any specialty equipment will be provided by shop.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- The employee must be able to stand for extended periods of time, and to stoop, bend, and crouch as required to perform key duties.
- Will need significant strength in legs, back, arms, shoulders to remove/replace parts, and will have to use this strength to generate both pulling and pushing motions.
- Ability to lift and carry, on a frequent basis, at least 5 to 20 pounds personally, and up to 25 to 50 pounds with assistance.
- Must be able to climb on and off vehicles safely and must be able to climb onto and up and down stairs and use handrails to enter/exit vehicles.
- Must withstand vibration from job site conditions as well as noise from other equipment.
- Must be able to use arms, hands, and feet in repetitive motions. The employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach and signal with hands and arms and reach with hands and arms above their shoulders.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
This job usually operates in a busy shop environment. The employee regularly works near other heavy equipment and moving machinery. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme conditions at construction job sites that include inclement weather, heat and humidity, and exposure to dust and asphalt. Employee may work in increased temperature conditions during summer hours and/or cold temperatures throughout the year. The noise level in the work environment and job sites usually can be loud, should noise levels appear to reach OSHA thresholds, testing will be performed, and sites monitored to provide proper equipment to manage these levels. This is a full-time position. Typical days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 6:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Some weekend hours are available as well.
No travel is expected for this position.
