REPORTS TO : Principal and Assistant Principals
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE :
- Providing students with an enriched library environment containing a wide variety of print and media materials.
- Collaborating with teachers to design and deliver information, literacy, and research skills instruction to students.
- Teaching students how to effectively search for, evaluate, and use information from various sources.
- Assisting students in developing skills to use reference materials to complete class assignments.
- Integrating instructional technology tools and resources into the library to enhance learning and research opportunities.
- Cataloging, organizing, and maintaining the library collection, including physical and digital resources.
- Implementing effective circulation procedures to ensure access to materials for both students and staff.
- Facilitating overall operation of the library.
- NYS certification as Library Media Specialist
- NYS Fingerprint clearance
