Crafting fresh-off-the-farm brews from the middle of a hop field, Bale Breaker Brewing Company is a family-owned brewery located in the beautiful Yakima Valley. Backed by four generations of hop farming experience, Bale Breaker started in 2013 and has grown to become one of the largest independent craft breweries in Washington. With a 30-barrel brewhouse and a 27,000 square foot facility, we craft eight year-round canned beers, including the widely celebrated Topcutter IPA. We also have a 5-barrel pilot brewhouse, the Imagination Station, where we test and develop new recipes. We currently have two taprooms, one in Yakima and another in Seattle’s Ballard Brewing District, and we distribute in Washington, Oregon, and Idaho.
ABOUT THE JOB
We are currently seeking a hard-working and passionate individual to join our team as a full-time seasonal PACKAGING TECHNICIAN. This person will serve as a key member in the beer production department helping to operate and maintain equipment needed to condition and package beer, monitor fermentations, fill distributor orders, and assist with Yakima beer deliveries. This full-time, hourly position will start in Spring 2025 with guaranteed employment through October and is based out of Yakima, WA.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
- Prepares beer for packaging, packages beer, organizes and records packaged product
- Operates equipment needed for the following activities: product packaging, product transferring, vessel CIP (clean in place), warehouse organization, and order filling
- Assists in general sanitation of all beer contact surfaces and equipment
- Transfers beer between vessels, assembles and dismantles hard and soft piping pathways
- Performs routine preventative maintenance and cleaning on equipment and infrastructure
- Works with rest of packaging team to fill orders and complete daily duties in a timely fashion
- Abides by workplace safety regulations while upholding quality standards
- Delivers beer to local Yakima accounts ~one day per week
MATERIALS/MACHINES/EQUIPMENT USED
- Industrial cleaning and sanitizing chemicals, including strong acids and bases
- Works on the canning line and kegging line
- Pumps, hoses, valves, clamps, gaskets, and other brewery equipment
- Sit-down and standup forklifts, pallet jacks, hand trucks
- Operates 16’ refrigeraged delivery truck

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to frequently sit, stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and climb
- Ability to frequently talk, hear, and smell
- Ability to frequently lift up to 50 lbs
- Vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to focus on small moving objects
- Must have a valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
- The work environment is usually that of a brewery
- The employee regularly works with hazardous chemicals
- The employee works on wet floors and with wet equipment
- The employee regularly works around high voltage, hot water, and steam
- The employee frequently must work in a sanitary environment

- Full-time, hourly position at $17-18 per hour (DOE) $5 per hour delivery shift differential
