Job Description
The Chrome Plating Technician is a vital member of our production team, responsible for executing chrome plating processes to complete orders according to customer specifications. The hours for this position are Monday through Friday, 7:00am to 3:30pm with some overtime required. The salary range is $21-$25 per hour depending on experience and education.

How You Will Rock The Role!
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Process chrome plating orders according to customer specifications.
- Design and build conforming anodes.
- Prepare metal surfaces for chrome plating by chemical cleaning or blasting.
- Measure, mark, and mask areas to be excluded from plating.
- Determine sizes and compositions of objects to be plated, and amounts of electrical current and time required.
- Operate hoists to place workpieces into plating tanks.
- Examine completed objects to determine thicknesses of metal deposits, or measure thicknesses by using instruments such as micrometers.
- Inspect plated areas for defects, such as staining, air bubbles or uneven coverage.
- Maintain production records.
- Maintain and troubleshoot chrome plating chemistry and equipment to ensure optimal performance.
Talents and Credentials:
- High school graduate or GED; technical training or certification in electroplating a plus.
- Prefer 5 years of hard/ industrial chrome plating experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- TIG welding experience is a plus, but not required.
- Must be able to speak, read and write in English.
- Good organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Good mathematical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to use inspection equipment including, but not limited to drop indicators, ID & OD micrometers, height gauge, XRF and eddy current gauges.
- Ability to read and understand blueprints, including tolerance requirements.
- Understanding of all assigned systems, machinery and equipment.
- Ability to use a computer to record order details.
