About the role

The Staff Accountant will have overall responsibility for preparing all journal entries, account schedules and general accounting for assigned portfolio.

You may be eligible for a $500 net sign on bonus to be paid out in your first paycheck

What you'll be doing

• Prepare and monitor ACH/wire transfers and bank reconciliations
• Prepare and process journal entries, including standard recurring entries accounting for bi-weekly payroll, recording cash receipts, monthly accruals, etc.
• Review trial balances to ensure accuracy and prepare supporting account schedules
• Analyze and resolve all open or reconciling items on accounts schedules in a timely manner
• Prepare monthly/quarterly/annual reports, including dashboards, variance analysis, financial statements, Owner’s reports, etc
• Determine current cash positions and project future needs to ensure balances will be sufficient to pay bills
• Prepare applicable state/local tax filings as needed
• Provide other analysis/reporting as needed

Who we're looking for

• Bachelor’s degree required. Accounting, Finance or Math major preferred.
• Minimum of 1 year accounting industry preferred
• Knowledge of general ledger, ACH/wire transfers and bank reconciliations, trial balance and supporting account schedules, financial statements, and other management reports
• Proficiency in MS Office products, with advanced working knowledge with Excel.  Yardi experience is a plus.
• Must be detail oriented, highly organized, and analytical
• Ability to communicate clearly and coordinate with various teams and departments
• Ability to travel up to 10% of the time throughout assigned projects is a possibility, but not required
• Active and valid driver’s license required.
