Equipment Fueler

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Maintains, repairs, and fuels a variety of diesel and gas heavy equipment, including trucks, loaders, bull dozers, backhoes, water pumps, and paving equipment by performing oil and transmission fluid changes, replacing air and fuel filters, checking fluid levels, and examining equipment for damage or wear.
• Diagnoses mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical
• Overhauls and tunes-up gasoline and diesel
• Repairs and replaces clutches and automatic
• Repairs electrical systems, including lights, switches, alternators, starters, batteries, and wiring problems.
• Repairs and replaces fuel and water
• Repairs disc, drum, air and hydraulic braking
• Repairs and replaces steering linkages and suspension
• Repairs air conditioning and heating
• Prepares vehicles for
• Welds and fabricates
• Cleans and inspects
• Tests and operates
• Documents and maintains records of fueling and
• Follows safety regulations and
• Performs other duties as

Minimum Requirements

• Previous mechanic service experience in the equipment rental/construction industry and/or related field preferred.
• Must hold a valid driver’s
• Valid CDL driver’s license with a Hazardous Materials endorsement (Required).
• Must have a driving record in Good
• Excellent verbal
• Able to prioritize multiple tasks and work in a fast-paced
• Ability to work well with minimal direct
• Must Have Own

Physical Demands and Work Environment

• Activities requiring handling and grasping with the hands when performing repairs or maintenance of equipment by utilizing hand tools, power tools, air tools, nuts, bolts, electronic controls, and other small parts.
• Occasional use of foot/feet to operate foot pedal on equipment to test
• Frequent lifting up to 25 , occasional lifting up to 50 lbs., and infrequent lifting up to 75 lbs.

• Ability to bend, kneel and work with arms raised for prolonged periods of
• Ability to climb over and into heavy equipment several times per
• Exposure to bright lights, extreme temperatures, loud noise, dust, gas and/or fumes
• Exposure to construction sites

Education, Experience and Required Skills, Including Certificates, Licenses and Registrations

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Valid driver’s license
• Understanding of computer testing
• Three years’ experience in heavy equipment repair and maintenance, including fueling heavy equipment or any equivalent combination of experience and training.
