Job Type Full-time Description
The Global Seed Conditioning Lead is responsible for modernizing, synchronizing, and training our global seed processing facilities to deliver world class seed to our domestic and international customers. This position is located in within the production research group and reports to the Production Research Lead. The Global Seed Conditioning Lead will interact daily with our production locations worldwide.
Responsibilities
- Develop post-harvest protocols for new crops including harvesting, threshing, conditioning, scarifying, sizing, fractioning, and testing that maximizes quality and efficiency.
- Lead a monthly meeting with seed processing managers to share ideas between locations and stay ahead of issues.
- Lead the discovery of best-in-class equipment and technologies in the seed sector through frequent interactions with other professionals in the field.
- Evaluate current conditioning equipment and processes and recommend new equipment to improve quality, efficiency and reliability.
- Evaluate post-harvest processes across global production locations to identify gaps in postharvest processing efficiency.
- Reduce skills gaps between locations by providing continual training and support to seed conditioning teams.
- Collaborate with researchers across production locations on best practices for new and existing crops.
- Conduct experiments to validate proposed seed conditioning solutions and improvements.
