Purpose
We are seeking a highly motivated and results-driven individual to work closely with our Natural Compounds Manager on various initiatives to innovate and develop strategic positions within the natural plant compound space. This role focuses on the agronomic aspects of these initiatives and will be instrumental in identifying opportunities, conducting research, and developing novel products for the natural plant extract market. As a member of our new business development team, this position contributes to a wide range of roles in the field, office, and lab where adaptability, diverse skill set, and a hands-on approach are integral to success.
Responsibilities
- Work closely with and under the guidance of the Natural Compounds Manager to coordinate and execute activities across a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders in research, operations, and business development.
- Design and execute agronomic and research trials to optimize yields, test equipment / technology solutions, and determine best practices for various novel specialty crops.
- Conduct or organize the typical fieldwork tasks of sowing, transplanting, crop monitoring, operation of light agricultural equipment, harvesting of seed & samples, etc.
- Manage orders and requests from external collaborators and coordinate with internal teams to fulfill them.
- Visit external collaborators to document, evaluate, and prepare reports on the status of crops and trials.
- In addition to field-based work, perform tasks in office, greenhouse, and laboratory settings with efficiency, attention to detail, and thorough documentation / data collection. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to
- Greenhouse work : sowing, monitoring & maintenance of plants, pollination, seed collection & cleaning.
- Laboratory work : Sample preparation, benchtop extractions, organization, and documentation.
- Office work : Data entry & analysis, assist in creating presentations, reports, and business development plans.
- Conduct technical / literature research to aid in product development, as well as market research and analysis to support due diligence efforts.

Salary Range 58-78K
