Seed Specialist

Ball Horticultural Company is seeking a customer-centric candidate to work in the international area of seed operations. Ball is the largest flower seed breeder/producer and distributor in the world, providing outstanding products, best-in-class customer service, and reliable supply to professional growers around the globe.

Responsibilities and Duties:

• Process, package, and distribute seed to meet the expectations of Ball’s global customers
• Perform quality checks
• Participate in physical inventories
• Provide high-quality product and accurate content to maintain our number one position in the industry
• Participate in continuous improvement exercises and adapt to changing needs and requirements
• Work with the overall team to deliver best-in-class service
• Perform all other duties needed to help drive to our vision, fulfill our mission, and abide by our organization’s values.
• Adhere to all quality control measures and watch for signs of tampering and contamination
• Perform work using multiple computer systems / software: MS Office tools, SAP inventory control and management, Government websites to manage international trade, and Carrier software – UPS, FedEx, DHL and others

• Must have a High school diploma or GED
• 2 or more years of experience in light industrial, production, laboratory, packaging, international shipping, or distribution operations
• Adaptable and quick learner with leadership skills necessary
• Excellent verbal and written skills to communicate with internal and external customers, bilingual capabilities a plus
• MS Office and inventory systems experience required. SAP experience is a plus.
• Problem solving, attention to detail, organizational skills, teamwork, adaptability, and flexibility to work in multiple areas performing multiple tasks
• Customer focus – productive, high-quality output to meet customer expectations and internal metrics
• Continuous process improvement – assist in creating new procedures and improving existing processes
• Collaboration – work directly with other employees inside and outside the department on shared objectives

Hours: Monday - Friday 9am - 5:30pm, occasional weekends and overtime as needed.

Salary: $18-21/hour

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to Lift/Carry up to 30 lbs. for 5% of the day
• Ability to Push/Pull up to 50 lbs. for 10% of the day
• Ability to Sit/Stand for 50% of the day
• Ability to Kneel/Bend up to 15% of the day
• Ability to Reach up to 15% of the day
• Ability Climb/Balance up to 10% of the day
• Ability to use Hands/Fingers up to 100% of the day
