Job Description
Ballers is seeking a skilled and innovative Chef to oversee all culinary operations, including our restaurant, grab-and-go café, and on-site catering meal service. This leadership role requires a hands-on working chef who excels in menu execution, kitchen operations, vendor management, purchasing, inventory control, and financial oversight. The ideal candidate is passionate about food quality, operational efficiency, and team leadership, ensuring an outstanding dining experience across all service areas. Here’s what your day-to-day will look like:
- Lead and oversee all kitchen operations, ensuring high standards of food quality, presentation, and consistency.
- Refine and execute creative, seasonally inspired menus for the restaurant, café, and catering services.
- Ensure all dishes align with Ballers' brand, guest expectations, and cost parameters.
- Maintain and enforce all health, safety, and sanitation standards in accordance with local and state regulations.
- Recruit, train, and manage kitchen staff, fostering a culture of excellence, teamwork, and accountability.
- Supervise daily kitchen activities, ensuring efficiency in prep, cooking, and service.
Conduct regular staff meetings to ensure communication of goals, expectations, and operational updates.
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with vendors and suppliers to secure highquality ingredients at competitive prices.
- Negotiate pricing and contracts to optimize cost efficiency without compromising quality.
- Ensure timely and accurate ordering of food products and supplies.
Implement and maintain inventory control systems to minimize waste and manage food costs.
- Analyze food and labor costs, adjusting operations as necessary to maintain profitability.
- Develop and manage kitchen budgets, monitor expenditures and costsaving opportunities.
- Oversee catering meal service, ensuring customized menus meet client expectations and budgetary guidelines.
- Work closely with event planners and frontofhouse teams to ensure seamless execution of catered functions.
- Supervise meal prep and service logistics for offsite and onsite catering events.
- Work closely with all departments to assist in various tasks and ensure seamless operations.
Skills & Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Chef or similar leadership role in a highvolume kitchen.
- Strong knowledge of restaurant, café, and catering operations.
- Expertise in food sourcing, purchasing, and vendor negotiations.
- Strong leadership and teambuilding skills with the ability to train and motivate staff.
- Proficiency in budgeting, food costing, and financial management.
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations and food sanitation guidelines.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends, evenings, and holidays.
- Knowledge of food safety and liquor laws.
