BalletRox, a non profit organization, a treasured resource of the City of Boston is seeking teachers for our Boston Public School and External Partners Programs, and subs for our studio programs. We believe in giving everyone "A Chance to Dance" by providing low cost tuition and scholarships to children in need. We bring dance to the Boston Public Schools and have a robust afterschool program. BalletRox Empowers the Youth of Boston thru Dance., following our Mission Statement of "A Chance to Dance."

BalletRox is hiring immediately for our External Partner Program for 2 exciting jobs in Boston in our afterschool program. Program begins January 27 runs thru March. Hip Hop, Monday and Thursday afternoons at 2 Community Centers in Boston!

We are also seeking new, exciting Dance Teachers, Teaching Assistants, and Substitute Teachers to teach children and teens (ages 2 and up) for our external Boston Public School programs and studio classes.It should be noted that most of our students are beginner dancers but excited to learn. We invite high-quality teachers with a professional dance education background to apply, including teachers with a BFA, BA and/or MFA strongly encouraged to apply. Additional Overview
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Dance Instructor to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in dance and a commitment to fostering a love for movement in students of all ages. This role involves teaching various dance styles, developing engaging lesson plans, and creating a positive learning environment that encourages creativity and self-expression.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement comprehensive dance curricula tailored to different age groups and skill levels.
  • Plan and conduct engaging lessons that promote physical fitness, coordination, and artistic expression.
  • Teach dance techniques while ensuring the safety and well-being of all students during classes.
  • Provide constructive feedback to students to help them improve their skills and confidence.
  • Organize and participate in performances, recitals, or showcases to highlight student progress.
  • Collaborate with other instructors to develop interdisciplinary programs that may include elements of theater or early childhood education.
  • Maintain a positive classroom atmosphere that encourages participation and respect among students.

Experience

  • Proven experience in curriculum development and lesson planning for dance instruction.
  • Background in working with preschool-aged children or experience in early childhood education is preferred.
  • Familiarity with childhood development principles to effectively engage young learners.
  • Experience in teaching adult education classes is a plus, allowing for a diverse range of student interactions.
  • Skills in photography are beneficial for documenting student performances and progress.
  • Previous experience in childcare or related fields will be considered an asset.
