Job Description :
The Referral Coordinator is responsible for coordinating the referral and precertification processes to ensure all patient orders are effectively followed through. This role requires advanced knowledge of electronic medical records (EMR), strong critical thinking skills, and the ability to navigate third-party websites for approvals. The coordinator will also provide registration coverage and ensure all job duties are performed across the District.
Key Responsibilities :
- Coordinate referral and precertification processes to ensure timely patient care.
- Access and maneuver within the EMR system to manage patient orders and documentation.
- Utilize critical thinking skills to adapt to new processes and access third-party websites for approval requests.
- Provide registration coverage as needed to support patient intake.
- Collaborate with healthcare team members to streamline patient referrals and ensure compliance with policies.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation of all referral and authorization activities.
