POSITION SUMMARY:
The Assistant Food & Beverage Manager will effectively manage all food & beverage preparation for Ballparks of America and Sho-Me Baseball. This position is responsible for delivering an exceptional food & beverage experience for all our guests.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
- Prepare menus and displays
- Assist Food & Beverage Manager in daily preparations for upcoming events
- Assist with vendor relationships, food orders and verification of deliveries
- Maintain and review all orders and confirm food and supply inventory prior to each event
- Assist with inventory counts, inventory control and point of sale systems
- Monitor daily and weekly food & labor costs and financial reports to assist in cost management Setup and prepare team meals, restaurant and concession stands as needed
- Stock restaurants and all concession stands
- Assist with catering orders: supply, food preparations, room setup, service, breakdown, etc.
- Assist with open and close of restaurants and concession areas
- Follow all appropriate local and state health department rules and regulations including safe food handling procedures
- Maintain clean and functioning kitchens throughout the facilities including proper food handling requirements and appropriate food storage temperatures
- Assist in hiring, training, scheduling, and supervising all Food & Beverage Team Members to ensure safe and proper handling of food, products and equipment
- Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned by management
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must be willing to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, holidays and have regular attendance
- Ability to maintain focus in a high-volume, fast-paced environment
- Must be detail oriented and have outstanding organizational skills
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize
- Ability to remain calm and focused in difficult and stressful situations
- Must take personal initiative for the betterment of the team and facility
- Commitment to the safety and well-being of others
- Applicants must be 21 years of age or older
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE HAS:
- Two (2) or more years of experience in the food service industry
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must be at least 21 years old
- 1-3 years of culinary experience
- 2-4 years of food & beverage management experience
- Food Manager Safety Certification, Safe Serve Certification, or similar certification (or willing to obtain upon employment)
- CPR and First Aid Certified (or willing to obtain upon employment)
- Requires good communication skills, both verbal and written
- Must have strong leadership skills
- Must be detail-oriented and have outstanding organizational skills
- Ability to maintain focus in a high-volume, fast-paced environment
- Must be able to work irregular shifts to include nights, weekends, holidays as needed
- Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds
- May be required to sit or stand for extended periods of time indoors and outdoors
- Facility has intermittent noise
