The Role:
The Tax Accountant is responsible for preparing and filing tax returns, ensuring compliance with tax laws and regulations, and providing support in tax planning and analysis. This role involves working closely with the finance team to manage tax reporting and compliance within the organization, as well as identifying opportunities for tax efficiency and savings.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and file federal, state, and local tax returns for the organization and its subsidiaries.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable tax laws and regulations, and stay updated on changes in tax legislation.
- Assist in the preparation of tax provisions and related financial statement disclosures.
- Conduct tax research and analysis to support tax planning initiatives and identify opportunities for tax savings.
- Collaborate with internal departments and external tax advisors to gather necessary information for tax reporting.
- Respond to tax-related inquiries and audits from tax authorities.
- Maintain accurate and organized tax records and documentation.
- Assist in the implementation of tax strategies to optimize the company’s tax position.
- Other duties as assigned by leadership

- Intermediate to Advanced Microsoft Excel user.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or equivalent certification is preferred.
- Minimum of 1-3 years of experience in tax accounting or a related field.
- Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations.
