What are the responsibilities and job description for the Educational Specialist II - MTSS position at Baltimore City Public School System?

Supports the work of the Teaching and Learning office, with a focus on developing Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) that will meet the needs of diverse learners, including gifted and advanced students, students with disabilities, and Multilingual Learners. The Educational Specialist will assist with the development of curriculum and professional development aligned to City Schools' MTSS framework. Serves as a district expert in the area of tiered supports and interventions.
Essential Functions
- Develops and delivers ongoing professional development around best practices in implementing the district's MTSS framework.
- Provides guidance to school teams and network teams to ensure schools have the systems, interventions, and tools to meet the needs of all students.
- Develops tools and processes for school-based implementation of MTSS, including Response to Intervention.
- Uses data collected to strategically support the needs of teachers and schools in the district.
- Works collaboratively with multiple offices to advance teaching and learning in the district by supporting the MTSS.
- Organizes reports from multiple data sources to monitor MTSS implementation and drive improvement at the school and district levels.
- Collaborates with school-facing district staff and school-based staff to support the implementation of the district's MTSS framework
