What are the responsibilities and job description for the Technician I - Logistics position at Baltimore City Public School System?
This position is responsible for the movement of incoming and outgoing goods to include furniture, fixtures & equipment (FF&E) and other materials for Baltimore City Public Schools.
Essential Functions
- Assists logistics supervisor and other team members for the receipt of inventory and deliveries.
- Coordinates and tracks shipments and inventory.
- Moves and hauls items including but not limited to furniture, water bottles, equipment, bulk trash to schools and facilities by operating necessary equipment such as dollies, handcarts, pallet jacks, etc.
- Communicates with supervisors and staff regarding the coordination of warehouse and inventory items and inform management of any discrepancies.
- Identifies the safety and quality of materials for potential re-use.
- Assembles and disassembles furniture and other items as needed.
- Documents information needed to memorialize processes including photographs or other relevant forms of documentation requiring signature requests
- Utilizes the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to retrieve, complete, and close-out work orders for proper tracking of materials
- Performs and promotes all activities in compliance with equal employment and non-discrimination policies; follows federal laws, state laws, school board policies and the professional standards.
