In accordance with Maryland law, City School is required to share the position salary ranges in its entirety. Please note, this is not the hiring range. The hiring range for this position is ($63,357 - $79,435).
Essential Functions
- Assists with the development of cafeteria based corrective actions plans (CAP). Implements follow up protocols and procedures to ensure CAPs are effective.
- Provides additional support to Manager - Regional Cafeteria with administrative tasks, labor related issues, attendance, and behavior.
- Ensures food orders are reviewed, updated based on trend data, and submitted by deadline.
- Provides managerial support in kitchen for emergencies i.e. absence, terminations, suspensions, etc.
- Assists with the supervision of food service facilities including the preparation and service of food, maintenance of sanitary conditions, safe and proper use of equipment, food and supply storage, and maintenance of Point of Sale (POS).
- Coordinates with training team to facilitate and deliver employee-training sessions. Supports the implementation of policies and procedures.
- Maintains yearly professional development requirement and ServSafe requirements. Attends and participates in meetings and educational courses to improve and update food service knowledge and techniques.
- Assists with monthly operation reports, itineraries, administrative reviews, audits, and other reports as required.
- Collaborates with regional manager to implement policies and procedures that supports Food and Nutrition Services' Strategic Plan.
- Provides appropriate supervision, mentoring, professional growth and developmental support.
- Performs and promotes all activities in compliance with equal employment and nondiscrimination policies; follows federal laws, state laws, school board policies and the professional standards.

Desired Qualifications
- Associate's degree in food technology, or, five years experience in the preparation, cooking and serving of food to large groups, including two years of supervisory responsibilities.
- Knowledge of the methods, techniques, tools and equipment of preparing and serving food.
- Knowledge of cafeteria management and related bookkeeping and banking procedures.
- Knowledge of safety techniques and methods of preventive maintenance.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to maintain records, write reports and direct the work of others.
