Summer Lifeguard

A DAY IN THE LIFE AS A LIFEGUARD: BCC Lifeguards are responsible for the implementation of all water safety policies and procedures as well as the supervision of members and guests in and around the swimming pool to ensure safety at all times. Lifeguards must have a thorough knowledge of lifeguarding surveillance and rescue techniques, be able to recognize and respond quickly and effectively to emergencies and enforce all aquatic facility rules and regulations. You will be required to treat all members, guests, and fellow staff with dignity and respect. Lifeguards will be provided with a uniform and during shifts a meal break with a Club provided meal. QUALIFICATIONS Only candidates available from Memorial Day to Labor Day will be considered The minimum age for this position is 15 years old You must have reliable transportation Candidates must be lifeguard certified or will receive their certification prior to employment Must be a quick thinker and effective problem solver Enthusiasm, sense of humor, patience and self-control Observe and monitor all swimming activities You must be able to work as a team player Ability to work in varying temperatures Must be adaptable in a continuously changing, fast-paced environment Ability to lift 25 lbs Experience working in a Country Club is strongly preferred, but not required.
