Examples of Duties
Under general supervision, oversees, facilitates, and coordinates the activities of various County agencies, developers, and the public in the submittal, review, and approval of development projects in the County.
- Facilitates, coordinates, and guides development projects through the review and approval processes.
- Serves as liaison between developers, the County, and the public to address issues and coordinate the submittal and approval of plans. Informs developers and citizens of development requirements.
- Resolves problems that delay or interrupt the process, and expedites projects.
- Manages project teams to assure consistency and conformance to negotiated time schedules.
- Works with developers and County agencies to set and maintain deadlines and schedules.
- Negotiates, sets, and tracks deadlines for completion of Phase II development requirements.
- Expedites review of development plans by County agencies.
- Serves as liaison between County agencies and developers to effect adherence to deadlines.
- Negotiates solutions for conflicting agency requirements.
- Represents the County at public conferences and meetings with developers and citizens.
- Schedules, coordinates, facilitates, and moderates Community Input Meetings.

Chairs Concept Plan and Development Plan Conferences.
- Oversees, coordinates, and guides permit applications through the review and approval process.
- Coordinates the processing of minor subdivision plans, record plats, and water appropriation permits.
- May serve on the Development Review Committee.
- May lead or supervise other employees in the department.
- Performs other related duties as required.
Qualifications
Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor's degree
Plus
Three years' professional experience in planning, zoning, or development management.
(Additional experience may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for the required education.)
Proof of Licenses, Certifications and Education
Applicants are required to submit proof of licenses, certifications and education beyond high school to meet the required and preferred qualifications of the position.
Diplomas or transcripts must show the applicant's major field of study. Copies and unofficial transcripts are acceptable.

Salary
Annual Salary review - Step increases may be granted on anniversary date based on satisfactory job performance
General Increases - Cost of living increases and adjustments may be granted as legislated.
Longevity Increases - In accordance with the specific pay schedule, a full-time merit or classified employee may receive a longevity increase, equivalent to one step, upon completion of a certain number of years of classified service with the County.
