What are the responsibilities and job description for the Seasonal Naturalist-Summer Camp Counselor position at Baltimore County Recreation and Parks?
Baltimore County Recreation & Parks is seeking responsible, motivated, and organized individuals to plan, coordinate and lead Summer Nature Camps. Summer Seasonal Naturalists are responsible to ensure the safety and well being of all campers during day camp programs. Training will be provided. Other general duties include assisting with live animal care, program materials maintenance, trail and garden work, assisting park visitors and exhibit interpretation.
- Applicants should have an interest in natural sciences, environmental science, science education, outdoor recreation, or related field. College degree preferred
- Willingness to learn
- Excellent communication skills
- Reliable transportation
- Able to work independently and as part of a team
- Enjoy working with children. Experience working with children is preferred
- Ability to work outdoors in a variety of conditions
- Lifeguard Certification a plus
Commitment:
- 35-39 hours/week
- Must be available Monday-Friday from June 2- August 15, 2025
This is paid position (commensurate based on experience). $15-$18/hr.
Positions available at various locations across Baltimore County- including Center for Maryland Agriculture & Farm Park, Benjamin Banneker Historical Park & Museum, Cromwell Valley Park, Holt Park & Center for the Arts, Lake Roland, Marshy Point Nature Center & Oregon Ridge Nature Center.
