The Baltimore County Department of Recreation and Parks is accepting applications for Beach and Park Cashier Attendants - Miami Beach and Rocky Point Beach Summer Seasonal Employment.
Schedule: 40 hours per week - Summer Seasonal
Several temporary summer seasonal vacancies exist in the Department of Recreation and Parks at various locations throughout Baltimore County.Seasonal temporary positions are not classified within the Baltimore County Government Classification and Compensation Plan.
Locations: Must have reliable transportation. Facilities are not located on public transportation lines.
Miami Beach is located at 4001 Bay Drive, Middle River, Maryland 21220.Rocky Point Beach is located at 2200 Rocky Point Road, Essex, Maryland 21221.
Definition of Responsibility
This position is responsible for performing cashier and attendant duties at assigned beach, park, or other facilities.
All interested candidates must apply at this time.Job Purpose
Under direct supervision, will perform cashier and attendant job duties at Miami Beach and Rocky Point Beach facilities.
Examples of Essential Job Duties
- Collect required admission fees by using a cash register for all financial transactions.
- Verify transactions, daily report and deposits for the day.
- Perform proper check in and placement of visiting groups.
- Answer phones and give accurate park and beach information.
- Sell season passes.
- Enforcement of facility rules, including checking coolers for alcohol.
- Keep facilities clean and free from hazards and litter.
- Alert patrons to changing weather and water conditions.
- Perform routine tasks as assigned. (Such as cleaning bathrooms, removing trash from barrels, cleaning grills and grounds and minor maintenance)
- Assist managers in dealing with customers as situations arise.
- Facilitate rentals of watersports equipment and process program registrations.
Examples of Other Duties
Perform other related duties as required.Training and Experience
Must be at least 16 years of age by May 1, 2025
Must be able to work weekends and holidays throughout the summer and have days off on the weekdays
Must have reliable transportation
Facilities are not located on public transportation lines
Must be able to pass a criminal background check
Preferred Consideration
Prior experience in customer service preferred
Persons with current American Canoe Association Paddlesports Safety Facilitator (or equivalent) will receive special consideration
American Red Cross First Aid/CPR/AED will receive special consideration

Employment Background Investigation
Applicants selected for employment with Baltimore County must successfully complete an employment investigation, including, but not limited to criminal background, education, and fingerprinting checks.
