EXAMINATION PROCEDURE
Qualified applicants will be assigned a rating based on an evaluation of their training and experience, as submitted on their applications and supplemental questions. Physical and Environmental Conditions
The work of this classification entails the performance of heavy physical labor including bending, stooping, lifting and carrying heavy objects, and the operation of hand and power tools and equipment. Some work requires exposure to potentially hazardous conditions such as standing in traffic, working in trenches, and adverse weather. Some duties may require travel between work sites.
Medical Examination and Employment Background Investigation
Applicants selected for employment with Baltimore County must successfully complete a physical examination, drug screening and employment investigation, including, but not limited to criminal background, education certification and fingerprinting checks.

Under close supervision, performs unskilled and semi-skilled labor work, uses hand and power operated tools.
Examples of Essential Duties
- Assists in the pick-up and delivery of equipment , furniture, supplies, and materials to various sites throughout the County.
- Loads and unloads trucks.
- Assists in setting up items and equipment for special events.
- Empties recycling bins.
- Keeps simple records to include logging work completed.
- Shovels snow when needed.
- Assists in the work of the Property Management Storeroom as required.
- Cleans and maintains tools, machines, and other equipment.
- Cleans and sweeps the storeroom or warehouse.
- Drives automobile, truck, or other non-commercial weight vehicle.

- Performs other related duties as required.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Ability to learn to perform a variety of unskilled and semi-skilled labor tasks.
- Ability to operate hand and power tools in a safe manner.
- Ability to follow instructions.
- Ability to read street signs and simple written material.
