Are you in? Primary Purpose: PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITION

The Real Estate Manager has day-to-day responsibility for managing the resources necessary to execute the processes involving the acquisition and disposition, whether by purchase, sale, lease, or license of real property rights, in accordance with the strategy and business goals of the business unit and department. Manages relationships with landowners, vendors and other stakeholders involved in the real property management function. Provide oversight and accountability for the reliability of a robust record management system. Supervise and lead teams comprised of internal staff and contractors responsible for performing real estate projects. Exercises leadership in diversity and inclusion and sustains a high level of commitment among staff and contractors.

Primary Duties: PRIMARY DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES
  • Develop, train, mentor and manage the performance of real estate team (including contracted personnel) responsible for acquisition and disposition transactions; provide for staff training and development to drive consistent added value to Exelon Operating Companies. Provide transaction support to direct reports as required. (10%)
  • Supervise and perform real estate acquisition and disposition activities; negotiation, due diligence coordination, transaction document contracting and review including appraisals, environmental assessments, surveys, title and related records, document preparation and processing, and closing execution. Manage the use of external resources throughout the process. (30%)
  • Plan, direct, and manage real estate team related to project site control related activities including community and landowner relationship development and maintenance, document revisions/management, rent and crop damage payment administration, issue resolution. (20%)
  • Develop, document, maintain and improve processes and procedures associated with all real estate management activities, including records administration of real estate related documents. (5%)
  • Proactively identify, develop and implement solutions to address emergent or existing real estate-related issues within the managed real estate portfolio, and track issues to resolution. (15%)
  • Collaborate with and support client Operating Companies (Generation/Corporate Development, Power, and Wind and Solar) including cross functional groups such as Development, Operations and Construction, and Environmental Management and other BSC functions such as Finance, Treasury, and Legal in real estate acquisition/disposition activities, project financing efforts, and ongoing portfolio management. (15%)
  • Report regularly on project activities to department and business unit leaders. Develop and present portfolio level presentations to Exelon/BSC leadership. (5%)

  • Regularly employs analytical and program development skills, in conjunction with project management expertise to deliver multi-faceted and sound solutions
  • Self-starter who is proactive in defining effective methodologies in a rapidly changing environment
  • Remains current on trends and development in the industry to ensure that operations reflect best industry practices.
Minimum Qualifications: MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree in Business or related field and 7-10 years' experience in real property management, acquisition, site development, and land/lease administration. In lieu of degree, 9-12 years of relevant experience.
  • Experience with processes adjacent to real estate issues (geospatial analysis, ALTA and boundary surveying, property tax assessment, site permitting, legal or paralegal aspects of real estate documents and the curative processes required to ensure proper conveyance of land rights and securing real estate rights.
  • Strong oral, written, and presentation communication and relationship management skills.
  • Success working in various roles on cross-functional teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize and balance multiple competing resource requirements at any given time, and to marshal resources to complete work in a timely manner.
  • Demonstrated supervisory skills to drive exemplary performance of a team of real estate professionals.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
Preferred Qualifications: PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Experience with real estate/land related to wind, solar, battery, power generation, and/or gas development.
  • Previous field experience in land management work.
  • Advanced degree (MBA or JD Preferred)

  • Annual salary will vary based on a candidate’s skills, qualifications, experience, and other factors: $104,000.00/Yr. – $143,000.00/Yr.
