Liaison with the company's customer and their architect and engineering consultants as required. Coordinates activities of the jobs and resolves questions and problems. Responsibilities also include scheduling, financial accountability, change management and overall project responsibility.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Be familiar with and ensure safety procedures, safety program requirements, and work rules are followed by onsite personnel. Document violations, notify project management and recommend/implement corrective actions as required.
- Assist in the collection of costs, their proper allocation, and their proper operations.
- Be the liaison with project inspectors.
- Assist the superintendent in all aspects of the project, including the paperwork.
- See that the erection plan is followed properly and that any changes are coordinated with the project manager.
- Report all material shortages or discrepancies immediately.
- Know where and what the project's survey control points are. See that the work is set to the proper elevation and alignment.
- Be familiar with bolting, welding and other erection procedures and assist the foreman and journeyman in their understanding of them.
- Be sure that all erection equipment is used in the proper fashion and at the proper time.
- Check to see that all fabricator installed material is in place and correctly sized and located.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out and explain detailed written or oral instructions.
